It was again a privilege to visit the country of Nepal, one of the top ten places in the world where the gospel is spreading most rapidly. My wife and I had the blessing of taking one of our granddaughters along with us. We went in a cooler season this time, but the warmth of the people made up for all the inconvenience of the weather.

It was good once again to be able to go to Nepal with MTM for a time of Bible teaching. It is always a learning time for me as well as for those we teach. We have opportunities from God that will impact for eternity. I am always challenged by those who have so recently become citizens of the heavenly kingdom. There are several areas of challenge for me.

My wife and I just returned from a couple weeks of teaching ministry in Nepal. We are so challenged by the dedication and servant hearts of the believers there. The church as a whole in Nepal is very young in faith. The Gospel has only been there for a few years and many are finding their freedom and joy in Christ.

I can hardly believe how fast time flies. The last post was back in the summer and now many of the trees have already lost this years’ leafy spread. As I rode along the highways and saw the beauty of fall colors I couldn’t help but think how the leaves in their quiet, unknowing, and unassuming way do something that we are also designed to do.

A couple of weeks ago one of my best friends died. About 10 years earlier he had had a massive heart attack and almost died. I was in Springfield IL for several days with the family while they watched him pull through open heart surgery. Doctors told him he only had about 20-25% of heart capacity afterwards but he continued to lead a productive life and had the privilege of seeing his family grow.

The old saying is “how time flies when you’re having fun”. While that is certainly true it isn’t the whole story. The truth is time just flies! There are surely people that find this not to be the case- invalids, sick, etc, but it doesn’t change the reality. Second by second times just keeps it’s steady rhythm of moving on.

It seems like life always ends up at this point. No matter how many places we may go and how many unique opportunities we may have we always end up back at the daily grind. If our goal is to escape the grind then returning is a burden, but if we see each day as a gift from God and each responsibility as another chance to serve as unto the Lord,
